Azeroth Is Calling: Enter the World of Warcraft
Azeroth Is Calling: Enter the World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in Azeroth, a vast fantasy world shaped by ancient civilizations, powerful magic, enormous wars and conflicts that reach far beyond a single planet. Players create their own hero by selecting a race, faction and class. Race determines the character’s people, appearance, history and racial abilities, while class defines how that character fights, survives and supports other players. The two most famous factions are the Alliance and the Horde. The Alliance includes civilizations such as Humans, Dwarves, Night Elves and Draenei, while the Horde is associated with races such as Orcs, Tauren, Trolls and the Forsaken. Although these factions have fought many wars, they have also been forced to cooperate against threats capable of destroying Azeroth. Classes provide the foundation of World of Warcraft’s combat system. Warriors rely on weapons and heavy armor, Mages command destructive magic, Hunters fight alongside animal companions, Priests heal allies or use Shadow power, and Druids can transform into different animal forms. Other options include Paladin, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Monk, Death Knight, Demon Hunter and Evoker. Each class contains specializations that create different combat styles. A character may serve as a Tank who protects the group, a Healer who restores health or a Damage Dealer who focuses on defeating enemies. Some classes can perform several roles, while others specialize almost entirely in dealing damage. Azeroth is divided into continents, kingdoms, islands and hidden realms filled with quests, cities, dungeons, treasures and enemies. Players can explore alone, join friends, form guilds, collect mounts and pets, learn professions, earn equipment and develop multiple characters. Dungeons are cooperative adventures for smaller groups, while Raids are larger encounters built around powerful bosses and coordinated mechanics. Players can also compete against one another through battlegrounds, arenas and other Player-versus-Player activities. World of Warcraft is currently available in different forms. Retail is the modern version with the latest story, updated systems and current expansion content. WoW Classic recreates earlier periods of the game for players who prefer the original progression, slower leveling and older versions of Azeroth. The current Retail story continues through World of Warcraft: Midnight, the second chapter of the Worldsoul Saga. Players return to Quel’Thalas as Xal’atath and the forces of the Void threaten Azeroth, continuing a storyline that began in The War Within. New players can try World of Warcraft free up to level 20. The introductory experience teaches movement, combat, quests, class abilities, inventory management and group activities before the player enters the wider world. More than twenty years after its original release, World of Warcraft remains a constantly evolving universe. Its greatest strength is not only its combat or progression, but the feeling that every character becomes part of a much larger history filled with legendary heroes, fallen kingdoms, betrayals and world-changing wars.

The Beat Becomes a Blade in Alpha Nomos
The Beat Becomes a Blade in Alpha Nomos
Alpha Nomos is an upcoming rhythm-action roguelite that transforms musical instruments into weapons and makes timing an essential part of every battle. Players control Cello, a young fighter who awakens in a devastated world filled with abandoned cities, corrupted arenas and hostile puppets. Her journey involves uncovering the origin of the disaster and understanding the mysterious power known as music. Every attack, dodge and special ability is connected to the soundtrack. Performing actions on the beat improves Cello’s movement, strengthens her attacks and allows longer combinations to flow naturally with the music. The game’s instruments were recorded using live performers rather than relying entirely on sampled audio. Every weapon therefore contributes real musical sounds to combat while functioning as part of Cello’s offensive arsenal. Musical upgrades affect more than damage or movement. Each upgrade introduces additional sounds and layers to the soundtrack, meaning the music evolves according to the abilities selected during a run. Different upgrade combinations can create entirely different combat styles and musical arrangements. By the end of a successful run, players may be fighting to a soundtrack shaped by their own decisions. The roguelite structure includes repeatable runs, changing arenas and progression that rewards players for improving their rhythm and learning enemy attack patterns. Failure becomes another opportunity to experiment with new instruments and combinations. Alpha Nomos is planned for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Its combination of rhythm mechanics, live-recorded instruments and action combat gives it a distinctive identity among music-based games.

Paris Burns at Midnight: A New Belmont Takes the Whip
Paris Burns at Midnight: A New Belmont Takes the Whip
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will launch on October 15, 2026, bringing the legendary vampire-hunting series back with a new 2D action-exploration adventure developed through a collaboration between Konami, Evil Empire and Motion Twin. The story takes place in Paris in 1499, twenty-three years after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. The city is consumed by fire as supernatural creatures emerge from the shadows and a mysterious castle rises over the surrounding streets. Players follow Rose Belmont, the daughter of Trevor Belmont. Rose carries Dracula’s curse within her right arm but continues her family’s mission as a vampire hunter, using the legendary Vampire Killer whip alongside several additional weapon types. The whip has been expanded beyond traditional attacks. Rose can use it to swing across gaps, reach elevated areas, pull herself toward enemies and create faster movement combinations while exploring the interconnected map. Boss encounters introduce the Arcana system. Defeated enemies such as Death, Medusa and Carmilla can be sealed inside Rose’s tarot cards, transforming them into Arcana abilities that provide spells, special attacks and new actions. Players can customize Rose’s combat style with equipment from seven weapon categories. Relics provide additional offensive and defensive effects, allowing different weapons, Arcana cards and passive abilities to be combined into specialized builds. The adventure introduces new characters and enemies while continuing the story of the Belmont family. Trevor accompanies Rose through parts of the burning city, but the curse affecting her arm places the young hunter at the center of a darker conspiracy. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and Nintendo Switch. Most supported platforms target 60 frames per second, while the Nintendo Switch version is listed at 30 frames per second. With faster traversal, more flexible whip mechanics and boss powers that become usable abilities, Belmont’s Curse aims to preserve Castlevania’s Gothic identity while giving Rose Belmont her own distinctive style of combat and exploration.

Skull Rock Goes Vertical: Corsair Cove Raises a Pirate Empire
Skull Rock Goes Vertical: Corsair Cove Raises a Pirate Empire
Corsair Cove launches on July 31, 2026, bringing a colorful pirate-themed city-building experience to Steam, the Epic Games Store, Xbox on PC and PC Game Pass. Developed by Limbic Entertainment and published by Hooded Horse, the game places players in command of a group of shipwrecked pirates attempting to preserve the fading Golden Age of Piracy. The settlement begins on an isolated island dominated by steep cliffs and limited flat ground. Instead of expanding only across a traditional grid, players can construct homes, taverns, workshops and defensive buildings directly along cliffsides and hilltops. Bridges, ladders, elevators, pathways and ziplines connect the different levels of the settlement. An inefficient transportation network can delay production, prevent resources from reaching distribution points and create serious problems as the population grows. Corsair Cove includes more than 50 types of goods. Production chains range from basic food, clothing and alcohol to spyglasses, medicine, flintlock pistols, cannons and specialized equipment required by experienced sailors. Different groups of pirates have their own expectations. New arrivals may accept simple meals and basic accommodation, while skilled crew members demand better clothing, entertainment and valuable supplies before agreeing to remain in the settlement. The island is only one part of the experience. Players can construct ships, select captains, recruit specialized crew members and send fleets into dangerous waters to search for treasure, raid enemy locations and collect resources unavailable at home. Sea expeditions can lead to smuggling operations, ancient temples, hostile forts, legendary pirates and supernatural threats. Encounters with enemy vessels use tactical turn-based combat influenced by the selected ship, captain, crew and available equipment. Players can develop their pirate society through four progression directions: Notoriety, Empire, Seafaring and Wealth. Advancing through these paths unlocks new buildings, transportation systems, production chains and stronger ships. The Crown remains a constant threat as pirate hunters attempt to end the age of independent buccaneers. Building an efficient settlement and maintaining a powerful fleet are both necessary to defend the island and reclaim control of the surrounding seas. By combining vertical construction, detailed logistics, population management and naval adventures, Corsair Cove offers a different interpretation of the pirate fantasy—one where efficient planning can be as important as cannons and treasure.

Two Outcasts, One Dying Japan: Beast of Reincarnation Awakens
Two Outcasts, One Dying Japan: Beast of Reincarnation Awakens
Beast of Reincarnation will launch on August 4, 2026, bringing Game Freak’s new action RPG to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game will also be available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from its first day of release. The story takes place in Japan in the year 4026, where traditional landscapes and futuristic technology exist inside a world devastated by a spreading corruption known as blight. Players follow Emma, an outcast born with blight inside her body. The corruption has fused her with plant life, transforming her hair into powerful vine-like extensions that can help her cross damaged environments, reach high locations and attack enemies from above. Emma works as a Sealer who hunts dangerous beings known as malefacts and absorbs their blight. Her journey changes after she meets Koo, a mysterious dog-like malefact whose existence should make him her enemy. Combat combines two different systems. Emma fights directly with fast sword attacks, evasive movement and precisely timed parries, while Koo uses powerful abilities selected through a command-based menu. Successful parries generate points that can be spent on Koo’s skills. Opening the command menu slows time, allowing players to examine the battlefield and select an ability without completely interrupting the flow of combat. This mixture of real-time swordplay and strategic commands gives players more control over difficult encounters. Emma can pressure enemies at close range while Koo provides support, creates openings and delivers specialized attacks. The world itself can also change as blight spreads. Plains and wastelands may gradually transform into dense forests, while sudden environmental shifts can reveal new pathways, threats and previously unseen malefacts. Emma and Koo must travel through this unstable version of Japan, uncover the origin of the corruption and confront the Beast of Reincarnation while learning why two rejected beings have been brought together. With its unusual human-and-dog partnership, transforming environments and combination of action and command-based combat, Beast of Reincarnation represents a major new direction for Game Freak beyond its best-known franchises.

Peace Has a Price: Civilization VII Rewrites Diplomacy
Peace Has a Price: Civilization VII Rewrites Diplomacy
Civilization VII Update 1.4.2 is now available across all supported platforms, introducing major diplomacy improvements, customizable victory settings and the second part of the Brush & Blade Collection. Peace negotiations have received one of the update’s most important changes. Players can now offer Gold and Influence when attempting to end a war, expanding the system beyond exchanges involving Settlements. The Peace Deal interface has also been redesigned to present information more clearly. Players can temporarily leave the negotiation screen to examine the map before accepting territorial exchanges or committing valuable resources. Leader Relationships now provide clearer information about diplomatic conditions and the factors influencing another ruler’s opinion. These improvements are designed to make alliances, rivalries and long-term political strategies easier to understand. Update 1.4.2 restores the ability to enable or disable individual Victory types when creating a game. Players can therefore remove unwanted victory conditions and build campaigns focused on military, scientific, cultural or economic goals. The free update arrives alongside Brush & Blade Collection Part 2, which introduces Korean historical content. Admiral Yi Sun-sin joins the game as a new leader, accompanied by the Goryeo and Joseon civilizations. Goryeo emphasizes scholarship and cultural development during the Exploration Age, while Joseon expands the collection with its own abilities, infrastructure and strategic identity for the Modern Age. The update also includes artificial intelligence adjustments, interface improvements, balance changes and fixes affecting diplomacy, combat, Independent Powers and progression between Ages. Active mods are automatically disabled after installing the update to reduce compatibility problems. Players can reactivate them through the Add-ons menu, although some mods may require updates from their creators. By expanding peace negotiations and restoring greater control over victory conditions, Update 1.4.2 gives Civilization VII players more freedom to shape both the political direction and ultimate objective of every campaign.

Ink Meets Treasure: Splatoon Raiders Storms the Islands
Ink Meets Treasure: Splatoon Raiders Storms the Islands
Splatoon Raiders is now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, taking the series away from its traditional competitive arenas and into a treasure-hunting adventure across the mysterious Spirhalite Islands. Players become a customizable mechanic working alongside Deep Cut, the musical trio formed by Shiver, Frye and Big Man. Together, they explore dangerous islands, recover valuable treasure and confront waves of unpredictable Salmonids. The game is primarily designed as a single-player adventure, but one member of Deep Cut accompanies the player inside a powerful battle bot. Commands can be issued during missions, allowing the bot to launch the mechanic into higher areas and prepare devastating Showstopper attacks. Players can also team up with as many as three additional participants through online multiplayer or local wireless play. Cooperative support can make larger raids easier while giving groups more ways to combine weapons, gadgets and battlefield roles. Three specialized tanks determine the gadgets available during each mission. The Power Tank focuses on direct attacks and crowd control, while the Speed Tank provides greater mobility for avoiding enemies and quickly crossing dangerous areas. The Tactical Tank is designed for players who prefer controlling enemy movement and shaping the battlefield. Tanks can be changed between missions, allowing different strategies to be tested without permanently committing to one combat style. Treasure recovered during raids can be used to craft equipment, improve gadgets and upgrade a wide selection of ink-based weapons. This progression system gives players stronger tools while encouraging repeated exploration of the islands. Three difficulty settings are available and can be changed during the adventure. Difficulty affects enemy strength but does not reduce the quality of treasure earned during missions, allowing players to adjust challenging encounters without losing rewards. Compatible Splatoon amiibo figures can unlock additional outfits, while the dedicated Shiver, Frye and Big Man Splatoon Raiders figures provide exclusive clothing inspired by the members of Deep Cut. With customizable equipment, commanding a combat companion and optional four-player cooperation, Splatoon Raiders turns the series’ colorful ink combat into a larger exploration and treasure-building experience.

Dino Island Erupts: PAW Patrol Races the Volcano
Dino Island Erupts: PAW Patrol Races the Volcano
PAW Patrol: Dino World has launched as a family-friendly open-world adventure that sends the rescue pups to Dino Island, where frightened dinosaurs, damaged habitats and Mayor Humdinger’s latest plan have created a prehistoric emergency. Players can explore the island with Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Rocky and Zuma while completing rescue missions, searching for dinosaur eggs and helping different species return safely to their families. The adventure includes several distinct regions with their own environments and challenges. Players can cross the open Dino Plains, investigate caves and secret pools, travel through tropical jungle areas and eventually reach the dangerous Volcano region. Rex serves as the team’s dinosaur expert and plays an important role throughout the story. He works alongside his best friend, Timmy the T-Rex, to guide the pups through difficult areas and uncover the consequences of Mayor Humdinger’s actions. Inside the Volcano, players encounter lava flows, collapsing pathways and damaged construction sites. One major mission involves rebuilding nests for a confused herd of Mahakala dinosaurs after their habitat is destroyed. The story eventually develops into a cinematic escape sequence in which players directly control Rex riding Timmy while the Volcano begins erupting around them. Players can switch their pups into vehicle mode, customize the appearance of characters, vehicles and dinosaurs, decorate enclosures and complete accessible minigames across the island. PAW Patrol: Dino World supports solo play and local two-player cooperation, allowing younger players and family members to explore, solve environmental challenges and complete rescue missions together. With its large explorable island, dinosaur care activities, cooperative gameplay and dramatic Volcano finale, Dino World expands the PAW Patrol formula into one of the team’s biggest interactive rescue adventures.

Axes Over the Fjords: Vikings and Scots Invade Age IV
Axes Over the Fjords: Vikings and Scots Invade Age IV
Age of Empires IV is expanding northward with Raiders of the North, a new expansion scheduled to launch in fall 2026 with two playable civilizations: the Vikings and the Scots. The Vikings are designed around fast melee infantry, naval strength, early religious development and a Longhouse that plays a central role in their economy. Players can complete Sagas to earn lasting bonuses and establish Sacred Groves on Relic sites to strengthen nearby forces. Their military roster includes the Bondi, a stronger replacement for the traditional Spearman that can form a defensive shield wall when fighting alongside other Bondi units. The Hirdman replaces the Man-at-Arms as a faster and more resilient frontline warrior, while the Berserker can enter a frenzied state and rapidly pressure enemy settlements, resource lines and vulnerable workers. The Scots follow a more defensive and ambush-focused strategy. Their infantry can detect enemies inside stealth forests and launch powerful surprise attacks against forces moving through rugged terrain. Scottish players can use the Mustering Hall to recruit discounted units such as the heavily armed Gallowglass and the mobile Border Reivers. Gallowglass warriors can fight alongside Scottish Pikes and Lochaber Axes to create a powerful schiltron capable of stopping cavalry charges. Highland Cattle provide the Scots with a renewable food option by consuming berry bushes, while Tower Houses offer vision and protection against enemy raids. An attached barmkin can provide additional safety for valuable livestock. Raiders of the North also expands The Crucible with four new missions, additional boons, a new challenge mode and two-player cooperative play. Two new biomes will provide fresh environments for both historical battles and multiplayer encounters. The expansion will be available through Steam, Microsoft Store and Xbox, with a PlayStation 5 version planned for release on launch day. An exact release date has not yet been announced.

Four Originals Break Free: Xbox Classics Reach PC
Four Originals Break Free: Xbox Classics Reach PC
Microsoft has launched Xbox Backward Compatibility on PC, officially bringing selected games from the original Xbox library to Windows computers and supported handheld gaming devices for the first time. The early-release lineup begins with four classic titles: Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live & Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Fuzion Frenzy. All four games can be purchased through the Xbox PC app and are also included with every Xbox Game Pass plan in supported regions. Players who already own a compatible digital Xbox console licence can access the PC version without buying the game again. Xbox Play Anywhere and cloud support allow eligible users to continue playing across Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, handheld devices and other supported screens while using the same Xbox account. The PC releases include several visual improvements while preserving the original gameplay. Players can use resolution upscaling of up to four times the original output, VSync, enhanced anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering and fullscreen or windowed display modes. Microsoft has also confirmed that Achievements will be added to selected original Xbox games later in 2026. The first four releases are expected to receive Achievement support through future updates. Minimum hardware requirements include Windows 11, 8 GB of RAM, 4 GB of video memory and a graphics card comparable to an Nvidia GTX 950, AMD Radeon RX 550 or Intel Arc A310. Microsoft describes the initial four-game release as the beginning of a broader preservation effort. More compatible Xbox titles and additional PC-focused features are expected to arrive over time. By carrying existing digital licences forward and improving classic games for modern displays, Xbox is making part of its console history accessible without requiring players to keep older hardware.
