Pokémon Pokopia is heading beneath the waves with a major content release arriving on August 5, 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.

A free update available to all owners will introduce Dive, a new ability that allows Ditto to travel underwater and construct buildings below the surface. The feature expands the game’s creative possibilities by turning previously inaccessible aquatic areas into new spaces for exploration and construction.

Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin will launch on the same day. The paid DLC adds an entirely new underwater region filled with fresh adventures, Pokémon habitats, decorative furniture and unusual building materials.

Buoyant blocks will allow players to create floating structures, while new environmental objects and watermelons provide additional options for designing aquatic settlements. The expansion also introduces another Dream Island for players to develop.

Nintendo has confirmed that the extended trailer includes an early look at Part 2 of the Expansion Pass. Information about the third and final DLC chapter will be announced at a later date.

Players must complete the Raise the Environment Level request in Bleak Beach before accessing the new content. Bleak Beach needs to reach environment level five, and Ditto must already know how to jump and use Surf.

Environment levels can be increased by befriending Pokémon, creating different habitats, building comfortable homes and completing requests from residents. Checking each Pokémon’s preferences can also help players improve their comfort level more efficiently.

By combining underwater movement, floating architecture and a completely new region, the August update gives Pokémon Pokopia players a much larger space in which to explore, build and create.
