Firestorm 33 Ignites: Command and Conquer Opens a 5,000-Player War
Firestorm 33 Ignites: Command and Conquer Opens a 5,000-Player War
Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances has opened Firestorm 33, a new multiplayer world designed for alliances competing to reach the Tacitus and defeat the central fortress. Firestorm 33 launched on July 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM UTC with space for 5,000 players. The new server uses the Uprising ruleset and limits player progression to level 65. The battlefield features a large map filled with rugged terrain and numerous lakes. These natural barriers can affect expansion routes, alliance positioning and the speed at which players move toward important objectives. Unlike some previous worlds, the Forgotten will not launch attacks against player bases. Armies will also fight without morale-related reductions, allowing commanders to use their full combat strength during offensive operations. More helpful Points of Interest will appear along the route toward the Tacitus. Capturing and controlling these locations can provide valuable bonuses and may give organized alliances an advantage during the race toward the center of the world. Every player begins with a pre-selected base layout. This restriction reduces the influence of starting-base randomness and places greater emphasis on resource management, expansion strategy and coordination between alliance members. Firestorm 33 is ultimately a race for ranking position and fortress completion. Alliances that establish territory quickly, secure useful POIs and coordinate attacks efficiently will have the strongest chance of reaching the Tacitus first. With a limited population, fixed starting conditions and a map shaped by lakes and difficult terrain, Firestorm 33 introduces a fresh strategic challenge for both returning commanders and new Tiberium Alliances players.

The Elder Scrolls Online has launched Sheogorath Takes a Holiday, a new six-part story questline available free to all ESO players across every supported platform. The adventure follows Noth the Unhinged and her unpredictable master, Sheogorath, as the Daedric Prince of Madness temporarily leaves the Shivering Isles to experience life as a mortal. The holiday becomes increasingly dangerous when dark forces discover that Sheogorath is temporarily vulnerable. Players must protect the Prince of Madness while uncovering the group attempting to use his weakened condition against him. The opening quest can be claimed free through the in-game Crown Store. Players can also begin the storyline by finding Noth the Unhinged at Baandari Trading Post in Malabal Tor, Windhelm in Eastmarch or Sentinel in the Alik’r Desert. A limited-time Golden Pursuits campaign accompanies the new storyline from July 29 through August 12, 2026. Completing related quests and activities unlocks additional rewards, including gold, cosmetic items and a special customized action inspired by Sheogorath. No Console Required: Xbox Moves Into Millions of Smart TVs
No Console Required: Xbox Moves Into Millions of Smart TVs
Microsoft has started expanding the Xbox app to millions of VIDAA OS-powered Smart TVs manufactured between 2024 and 2026, including supported Hisense models. The rollout allows players to stream Xbox games directly through a compatible television without purchasing an Xbox console. Users only need a supported Smart TV, an eligible Xbox Game Pass subscription, a compatible Bluetooth controller and a reliable high-speed internet connection. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential subscribers can access supported cloud games through the television app. The available library may vary depending on the user’s subscription plan, device and region. Players can also stream selected games they already own, including supported titles that are not currently included in the Game Pass catalogue. Game progress remains connected to the player’s Xbox account, allowing an adventure started on another device to continue on the television. Compatible televisions must be updated to VIDAA OS 9.6 or later. After installing the update, the Xbox app should appear on the television’s Home Page or inside the Games section of the main menu. The service supports several Bluetooth controllers, including the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, PlayStation DualSense and PlayStation DualShock 4. Availability is expanding gradually as Microsoft and VIDAA release updates for additional television models and regions. This means the application may not appear immediately on every Hisense television that could eventually receive support. By removing the need for dedicated console hardware, the new Xbox app gives more television owners access to cloud gaming while expanding Microsoft’s strategy of making Xbox games playable across a wider range of devices.

The Final Bounce: Ball x Pit Unleashes One Last Experiment
The Final Bounce: Ball x Pit Unleashes One Last Experiment
Ball x Pit is preparing to conclude its post-launch content journey with The Naturalist, the game’s final free update, arriving for PlayStation 5 on August 6, 2026. The update introduces two unlockable characters built around completely opposite approaches to creating a powerful loadout. The Ballbearer sacrifices access to passive items in exchange for twice the normal number of ball slots. This allows players to create larger projectile combinations and focus almost entirely on direct offensive power. The Hoary Hoarder follows the opposite philosophy. This character can equip only two ball slots but receives twice as many passive slots, making item Evolutions and carefully selected bonuses the foundation of each run. The Naturalist also adds 11 new balls with unusual combat effects. Lightning Bug creates fireflies that seek out strong enemies, Mosquito Kingdom gradually forms a swarm that targets weaker opponents and restores health after successful finishing attacks, and Drill pierces through enemies while dealing increased damage from behind. Flesh begins with reduced damage but becomes faster after every bounce, eventually transforming into a rapidly moving projectile. Armageddon marks an enemy on impact before calling down a destructive meteor shower across the surrounding area. Five additional passive items expand the number of possible builds. Platinum Dumbbell rewards accurate shots with a temporary damage increase, Inglorious Hammer causes balls to strike another target after hitting a wall, and Remote Detonator generates Bomb Balls when enemies are defeated. With two characters that completely reshape inventory management, 11 new projectiles, five passive items and additional surprises being kept secret, The Naturalist gives players one final collection of tools for creating chaotic and experimental combinations.

Eleven Teams, One New Circuit: F1 25 Rewrites the Grid
Eleven Teams, One New Circuit: F1 25 Rewrites the Grid
EA SPORTS F1 25 has entered a new racing era with the 2026 Season Pack, introducing updated teams, drivers, technical regulations and cars inspired by the latest changes in Formula 1. The official grid now expands to 11 teams with the arrival of Cadillac and Audi. Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez lead Cadillac’s debut lineup, while the wider driver roster reflects the major changes introduced for the 2026 championship. Players will experience a new generation of lighter, smaller and more responsive Formula 1 cars. Active aerodynamics allow the front and rear wings to adjust during a race, creating additional strategic choices between straight-line speed and cornering grip. The new Overtake Mode delivers a temporary power increase of nearly 500 horsepower. Drivers must decide when to deploy the extra performance for an attack, a defence or a critical acceleration zone. The update also introduces MADRING, a new hybrid street and purpose-built circuit located in Madrid. The 5.4-kilometre layout contains 22 corners and combines technical braking sections with faster straights. The 2026 season can be played through Driver Career, My Team, Grand Prix, Time Trial, split-screen and unranked multiplayer. In My Team, the player’s custom organisation becomes the 12th team competing alongside the expanded official grid. Existing F1 25 owners can access the new content through the separate 2026 Season Pack. New players can purchase the 2026 Season Edition, which combines the original game with the complete seasonal update. Career and My Team saves created for the 2025 season cannot be transferred directly into the new championship. Players must begin a fresh 2026 save to use the updated teams, regulations, objectives and race calendar. With two new manufacturers, a completely new circuit and more tactical control over car performance, the 2026 Season Pack significantly changes how players approach every qualifying session and race.

Pocket-Sized Sundays: Madden NFL 27 Hits Switch 2
Pocket-Sized Sundays: Madden NFL 27 Hits Switch 2
EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27 is bringing the American football series to Nintendo Switch 2 on August 13, 2026, alongside its release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game is powered by EA’s new Persona Engine, a system designed to make Franchise mode feel more reactive and unpredictable. Teams, coaches and players can develop changing identities as seasons progress, allowing decisions made away from the field to influence the future of the league. On the field, Madden NFL 27 introduces more physical battles between wide receivers and defensive backs. Players will gain more precise control when fighting for position, defending passes and attempting catches during tightly contested plays. Short-yardage situations have also been redesigned. New mechanics are intended to make goal-line plays, quarterback sneaks and attempts to gain the final few inches feel heavier and more tactical. Defensive coverage receives additional adjustments, with improved reactions and new strategic controls available before the snap. These options give players more freedom to disguise coverage, respond to offensive formations and prepare for specific threats. Superstar progression has been rebuilt around branching skill trees. Core, Mental, Physical, Specialty and X-Factor categories allow players to shape athletes around different positions, strengths and playstyles instead of following a single linear upgrade path. The presentation has also been expanded with updated uniforms, more authentic broadcast details and new stadium environments. Madden NFL 27 includes Buffalo’s new Highmark Stadium and Australia’s Melbourne Cricket Ground, reflecting the NFL’s growing international presence. The Nintendo Switch 2 release gives players a new portable way to manage a Franchise, develop a Superstar and compete in Madden Ultimate Team. The Standard Edition is listed at $69.99, while the Deluxe Edition includes additional digital content and is priced at $99.99.

Ditto Dives Below: Pokopia Builds a World Underwater
Ditto Dives Below: Pokopia Builds a World Underwater
Pokémon Pokopia is heading beneath the waves with a major content release arriving on August 5, 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. A free update available to all owners will introduce Dive, a new ability that allows Ditto to travel underwater and construct buildings below the surface. The feature expands the game’s creative possibilities by turning previously inaccessible aquatic areas into new spaces for exploration and construction. Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin will launch on the same day. The paid DLC adds an entirely new underwater region filled with fresh adventures, Pokémon habitats, decorative furniture and unusual building materials. Buoyant blocks will allow players to create floating structures, while new environmental objects and watermelons provide additional options for designing aquatic settlements. The expansion also introduces another Dream Island for players to develop. Nintendo has confirmed that the extended trailer includes an early look at Part 2 of the Expansion Pass. Information about the third and final DLC chapter will be announced at a later date. Players must complete the Raise the Environment Level request in Bleak Beach before accessing the new content. Bleak Beach needs to reach environment level five, and Ditto must already know how to jump and use Surf. Environment levels can be increased by befriending Pokémon, creating different habitats, building comfortable homes and completing requests from residents. Checking each Pokémon’s preferences can also help players improve their comfort level more efficiently. By combining underwater movement, floating architecture and a completely new region, the August update gives Pokémon Pokopia players a much larger space in which to explore, build and create.

Twelve Soldiers, One City: Gears E-Day Reinvents Horde
Twelve Soldiers, One City: Gears E-Day Reinvents Horde
The Coalition has revealed the multiplayer experience for Gears of War: E-Day, introducing Horde Siege as a larger and more dynamic evolution of the franchise’s classic wave-based survival mode. Horde Siege supports 12 players divided into three squads of four. Each squad enters the same large battlefield with its own mission, but their paths can cross as objectives, enemy invasions and opportunities change across the city of Kalona. The mode will launch with three large maps and four playable classes: Assault, Breacher, Marksman and Medic. Each class includes a starting loadout, combat bonus, progression path and unique Tactical Gear, while character appearance can be selected separately from the chosen role. Players can choose between three mission formats. Blitz offers shorter missions lasting approximately 15 to 20 minutes, Siege provides larger operations of around 20 to 40 minutes and Horde delivers a traditional 10-wave defensive challenge that may last close to an hour. Optional objectives can reward squads with equipment, shared perks and Weapon Parts. These parts are used to unlock modifications for weapons, but at least one squad member must survive the final extraction for the collected rewards to be retained. Large invasion events can bring powerful Locust creatures such as the Corpser or Brumak onto the battlefield. During these encounters, all three squads may need to cooperate while dealing with temporary conditions that can disable supply stations or prevent extraction. Competitive Versus also returns with four-on-four matches, equal starting equipment and no Weapon Mods. Power Weapons placed around each map create tactical advantages, while updated movement mechanics introduce new ways to attack, escape and support teammates. Gears of War: E-Day will not use a traditional battle pass. Nearly every character skin, weapon design and customization item can be earned by completing matches, challenges, achievements and medals or by spending Coins earned through gameplay. More than 60 character skins and over 80 medal series will be available at launch. Five themed multiplayer seasons are also planned after release, adding maps, modes, characters, Horde Siege classes and limited-time events. Early access to the multiplayer open beta begins on August 6 for eligible pre-order customers, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members and PC Game Pass subscribers.
