Silent Hill: Townfall Developers Reveal New Details About Its Scottish Setting, CRTV Device, Combat and Multiple Endings

Konami and Screen Burn Interactive have revealed new details about Silent Hill: Townfall, the upcoming psychological horror game scheduled for release on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

The story follows Simon Ordell, who returns to the isolated Scottish island of St. Amelia to confront a mysterious connection to the town and its inhabitants. The island is covered in dense fog and appears abandoned, but disturbing events and fragments of the past gradually begin to surface.

Silent Hill: Townfall will be the first full-length entry in the franchise designed entirely from a first-person perspective. According to the developers, this viewpoint was essential for integrating the CRTV, a portable television-like device that replaces the traditional Silent Hill radio.

Players will use the CRTV to detect unstable signals, uncover narrative information, assist with stealth, and interact with certain puzzles. The developers designed the device as an active survival tool rather than a simple warning system.

Enemy encounters will offer different approaches. Some creatures can be confronted with firearms or melee weapons, while others are better avoided through stealth, distractions, careful movement, and environmental awareness.

The game will also include multiple endings determined by the player's actions throughout the story rather than a single final decision. Three main endings can reportedly be reached during the first playthrough, while a secret ending becomes available after completing the game once.

On PlayStation 5, Silent Hill: Townfall will use adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, motion controls, and 3D Audio. Players will be able to feel approaching footsteps through the DualSense controller, aim using motion controls, and physically tilt the CRTV while searching for signals.

With its remote Scottish setting, first-person presentation, retro technology, branching conclusions, and combination of combat, stealth, puzzles, and psychological horror, Silent Hill: Townfall is shaping up to be one of the most distinctive entries in the series.
