Cape Off, Headset On: Dispatch Sends Heroes to Xbox
GamingDispatch has officially launched for Xbox Series X|S and PC, bringing AdHoc Studio’s superhero workplace comedy to a new group of players. The game also supports Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing eligible users to continue their progress across Xbox and Windows devices.
The story follows Robert Robertson, better known as Mecha Man. After his powerful suit is destroyed during a confrontation with his greatest enemy, Robert is forced to leave frontline superhero work and accept a desk job at a superhero dispatch center in Los Angeles.
Instead of fighting criminals directly, Robert must manage a team of former supervillains attempting to rebuild their lives as heroes. Each member of the group has unique powers, personality traits, weaknesses and unresolved personal problems that can affect the success of a mission.
Players use a strategy map to follow emergencies across the city and decide which heroes should respond. Sending the right person can save civilians and strengthen the team, while a poor assignment may create new problems, damage relationships or change the direction of the story.
Dialogue choices also play an important role. Conversations in the office, decisions during dangerous operations and Robert’s relationships with his unusual coworkers can influence character loyalties and determine how different parts of the narrative unfold.
Heroes can improve their skills and unlock new abilities as the team gains experience. Players must balance individual strengths with team chemistry while gradually rebuilding Mecha Man’s damaged suit and preparing Robert for another confrontation with his nemesis.
Dispatch combines interactive storytelling, workplace comedy and tactical management rather than following the structure of a traditional superhero action game. Its voice cast includes Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey, Erin Yvette, Matthew Mercer, Jeffrey Wright, Travis Willingham, Jacksepticeye and several other performers and creators.
The game launched on Xbox on July 29, 2026, and is optimized for Xbox Series X|S, PC and supported handheld devices.
